The Smithsonian American Art Museum has announced that its long-time Director, Elizabeth Broun, will retire at the end of 2016. Broun has helmed the American Art Museum as well as the Renwick Gallery for twenty-seven years. During her time at the institutions, Broun oversaw major renovations of both of the museums’ historic buildings.
