Florence’s Uffizi Gallery is partnering with Indiana University to digitize its collection of ancient sculptures. The goal is to have the museum’s collection of Greek and Roman statuary available online by 2020. Indiana University has enlisted students in its new phD program in virtual heritage to photograph roughly 1,250 pieces from the Uffizi’s holdings.
