The Chinese billionaire and patron Adrian Cheng plans to launch a major exhibition in Shanghai of works by Salvador Dalí lent by the Fundación Gala-Salvador Dalí. Cheng’s K11 Art Foundation and the Spanish-based foundation have joined forces to stage Media-Dalí, which is due to open on November 5 (until February 15, 2016). 

The exhibition will be held at the chi K11 Art Museum in the basement of the K11 art mall, which is owned by Cheng’s family-run company, New World Development.

The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut, presents a summer exhibition that honors Connecticut and New York’s contributions to the history of maritime travel and trade with the exhibition, "All the Sea Knows: Marine Art from the Museum of the City of New York." On view through September 20, 2015, "All the Sea Knows" combines paintings and decorative arts objects from MCNY’s remarkable yet seldom-exhibited maritime art collection with paintings and artifacts drawn from the Florence Griswold Museum’s collection.

"Saul and David"—a painting once thought to be one of Rembrandt’s greatest pictures until it was dismissed in 1969 as a work by a follower—has been reattributed to the Dutch master following a lengthy investigation. The Hague’s Mauritshuis revealed the news today in the run-up to the opening of an exhibition detailing the painting’s extensive technical investigation and recent restoration. The CSI-style show is due to open on June 11 and run until September 13.

Paris’ Fondation Louis Vuitton collection was designed according to four axes: contemplative, subjective expressionist, Pop art, and music/sound. Following two hangings—the first in the autumn of 2014, which exhibited a limited set of works representative of the four categories and from the field of architecture, and the second taking place in the winter of 2014 until the spring of 2015, adhering to the expressionist and contemplative axes—the third part of the collection was inaugurated on June 3, 2015, bringing together Pop art and sound works, which are to be exhibited until October 2015.

From New York to New Mexico: Masterworks of American Modernism from the Vilcek Foundation Collection opened at Phoenix Art Museum on June 7, 2015. The exhibition includes 65 objects of American modernism spanning more than fifty years by notable artists like Stuart Davis, Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley and Georgia O’Keeffe. The subject matter ranges from the skyscrapers of New York City to the adobe homes of the American Southwest. These objects are on loan from the Vilcek Foundation in New York that was started by Marica and Jan Vilcek, immigrants from the former Czechoslovakia.

R & Company’s current exhibition, David Wiseman: Wilderness and Ornament, is more than a visually stunning presentation -- it is deeply profound experience. Evan Snyderman, who founded the New York-based gallery alongside Zesty Meyers in 1997, says, “people have been brought to tears by how beautiful this installation is.”

“Russian Modernism: Cross-Currents of German and Russian Art, 1907-1917” at the Neue Galerie is a lively, scattershot exhibition, with numerous paintings of great interest, others of not so much and many by Russian artists most of us have barely heard of.

Containing 53 paintings and 21 works on paper, the show spans a decade when modern art movements were breaking out all over Europe — Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Dada and De Stijl. To the east, Russia was no exception. The show’s ambitious title introduces an immense subject that is beyond the resources of this small jewel-box museum.

Swiss luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe is taking over London's Saatchi Gallery until June 7, which will be the brand's most ambitious exhibition to date.

As part of “Watch Art Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition," visitors will be able to see, for the first time in London, more than 400 historical timepieces­—some of them from the Patek Philippe Museum collection—including the first Swiss wristwatch, which was made for a woman.

On Saturday, May 30, the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland will open "Andy and Kosti," an exhibition of paintings by Andrew Wyeth and photographs by Kosti Ruohomaa, which will be on display in the museum's Wyeth Center through November 1.

The exhibition explores the friendship between Maine artists Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) and Kosti Ruohomaa (1913-1961). Both were famous for their iconic depictions of Maine life and the people who called Maine home, from farmers to fishermen.
