The Asia Week New York Association announces that 46 international galleries and 5 auction houses will participate in Asia Week New York 2016, the nine-day celebration of Asian art and culture that spans the metropolitan region from March 10 through 19, 2016.

Says Lark Mason, Chairman of Asia Week New York:  “For connoisseurs and collectors who want to immerse themselves fully in the wonders of the Far East, they know there is a once-a-year celebration that they must attend. And it's no wonder.

Visitors to the Menil Collection have a rare opportunity this fall to experience works from the museum’s Surrealist collection in dialogue with one of the movement’s major figures – Salvador Dalí. On loan from the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, the artist’s 1932 painting, Eggs on the Plate Without the Plate, greets viewers on a wall by itself as they enter the first of three galleries reinstalled for this special exhibition. Curated by Assistant Curator Clare Elliott and consisting of some 30 works by 12 artists, The Secret of the Hanging Egg: Salvador Dalí at the Menil opened on November 5, 2015 and will remain on view through June 19 of next year.

The Judd Foundation is working to digitize Donald Judd’s archive, which is in the process of being moved fr om New York to Marfa, Texas, wh ere the artist founded the Chinati Foundation in 1986.

The archive has so far been the main resource for a catalogue raisonné being compiled by the Judd Foundation. With the appointment in September of former studio assistant Ellie Meyer as the catalogue raisonné research manager, the project is moving into a more public phase, focusing on collectors, galleries and institutions.

Paris Photo Releases Its 2015 Exhibitor List

Paris Photo, the premier international art fair for works in the photographic medium, has announced a list of 168 exhibitors from 35 countries including 147 galleries and 26 art book dealers for its 19th edition which take place at Paris’s Grand Palais from November 12-15.

This year’s fair includes 30 solo and duo shows, including: Bruno Serralongue and Torbjørn Rødland, presented by AIR DE PARIS, Paris; Brassaï, presented by KARSTEN GREVE, Paris; Jean-Baptiste Huynh presented by LELONG, Paris; and James Welling, presented by PETER FREEMAN, New York.

The ADAA Art Show Releases Its 2016 Exhibitor List

Seventy-two galleries, including such stalwarts as Pace, Matthew Marks, Acquavella, and Sean Kelly, are among those who will show at the 28th annual Art Dealers Association of America art fair next year. Slated for March 2–6, 2016 at the Park Avenue Armory, the ADAA Art Show announced its list of exhibitors in a release today. The fair’s opening gala will benefit the Henry Street Settlement, the Lower East Side social-service nonprofit.

Art Basel announced today that Noah Horowitz has been appointed to the new position of Director Americas for Art Basel, starting in August 2015. Based in the United States, Horowitz will direct Art Basel's Miami Beach show moving forward, further strengthen Art Basel's relationships with galleries, collectors, artists, museums and institutions from the Americas, and promote them throughout Art Basel's activities worldwide. Horowitz joins Art Basel's Executive Committee – led by Marc Spiegler at a global level – alongside Adeline Ooi, Director Asia; Marco Fazzone, Director Resources and Finance; and Patrick Foret, Director Business Initiatives‎.

1. Olaf Breuning at Metro Pictures, through July 31

Olaf Breuning's work can be a tonic for whatever ails you. Over the years, I have found it to be an especially effective remedy for mild depression, general malaise, self-doubt, self-pity, and even writer's block. His brand of wacky humor stays with you long after the show is over. This will certainly be the case with Breuning's current offering, “The Life," which is the most visually coherent and thematically resonant exhibition by the Swiss-born artist I've seen.

Art Basel promises such a notable showing of Modern works this year that, for the first time since 2006, the fair has implemented a floorplan shift — yes, a floorplan shift —  to capitalize on it all.
